About
I am Drew Augustin and this blog is a project in my CEE 4554 Natural Disasters Mitigation and Recover for the spring 2008 semester.
The topic of this blog will be the magnitude 6 earthquake that struck on the morning of Thursday, February 21 2008 in the rural town of Wells, Nevada. The quake could be felt throughout northwest Nevada but most other places suffered minimal damage. In Wells, there was extensive structural damage to the town; virtually every building in the town was damaged in some way. The town’s historical district was the hardest hit, but overall the damage caused the entire town to shut down. Despite the extensive damage, only three injuries were reported. Further posts will give more detail about the earthquake, damage, and rebuilding efforts taking place in Wells.
This blog contains 5 separate posts that outline the disaster, response, and recovery. To navigate this blog, simply click on “The Earthquake” under Categories in the right hand column. The first post in the series is “The Event” (which is the last on the list). To access subsequent postings, simply click on the next button that is in the right hand column on each post. Alternatively, the list below shows the 5 post in the correct order and you can access each by simply clicking on the link below. Then, you can again navigate between posts using the next and previous buttons on the right hand column or simply return to the about page by clicking on “djaugustin85′s Weblog” on the top of the site.

This is a strong blog with good detail and images. Only thing I can think of is to review it for a few typos here and there.
Very good blog. I like the format you used and the images are good as well. The text provides a good amount of detail on the situation. Again good blog.
Drew –
I’m not sure if this comment will appear as a “reply” or as a comment — I’m entering it under “Leave a Reply” with no “Leave a Comment” box available.
Any way, it’s a really nice blog with lots of good material. I did find it a little confusing to navigate.
Also, provide links to your sources, at the very least
Thanks for the comments from everyone. I made some changes based on the things that everyone said.
First off, I added and explanation on how to navigate the blog as well as links to each posting on the about page (as you can see above). Secondly, I did go through and look more closely and corrected all of the typos I found.
Hope the changes address your comments and help you navigate the blog more easily. Thanks again
Also, I added citations to all my blog entries. Typically, the information and the images came from the same website and so the source for each is for both the entry and the image.
